Sørlige Nordsjø II, a promising expanse in the Southern North Sea, serves as the canvas for our venture. At Norseman Wind, we are preparing to apply for a license to develop and operate the large-scale offshore wind farm, providing clean, sustainable energy that will lead us into a greener future, contributing significantly to the ongoing energy transition.
Spanning over 400 km² and located 75 nautical miles from the coastline, the Sørlige Nordsjø II area boasts exceptional wind resources, with water depths ranging from 53 to 70 meters, making it an ideal location for bottom-fixed technology. With a capacity of 1400 MW, the wind farm will be well-positioned to supply abundant clean energy to the Norwegian mainland, powering the region’s households.
EnBW, as the sole owner of Norseman Wind, brings invaluable international experience to the table in developing, constructing, and operating offshore wind parks. Their most recent commissioned project, Hohe See and Albatros, located in the North Sea, has successfully generated over 600 MW of power, supplying approximately 710,000 households since January 2020.
We aspire to power Norway with an abundance of clean energy, a crucial step in the transition towards a greener economy. As the demand for renewable energy continues to rise and the need to replace fossil fuels becomes increasingly urgent, offshore wind stands out as a beacon of hope. Prosess21 indicates that by 2024, Norway’s power requirements surge by 50-60 TWh compared to today, underscoring the immense growth potential in this sector.
Our vision at Norseman Wind extends energy generation; it reaches out to the communities we serve. By venturing into offshore wind, we’re not only delivering clean energy but also creating fresh opportunities for Norwegians. This includes the generation of new jobs, fostering economic growth, and contributing to the nation’s sustainable future. Together, we’re painting a brighter and greener tomorrow.
